Taps and flaps
From KneeQuickie
Taps, also known as flaps, are a class of consonants created by tapping an articulator against another. Unlike plosives, taps do not block airflow appreciably but rather disrupt it for a moment. Most taps are made with the tip of the tongue, though lateral and labial taps exist as well. The most common instance of this is the alveolar tap, ɾ.

Labiodental flap
The labiodental flap is a sound occuring in some African languages. Its IPA symbol is a v with a breve (v̆)*, but is represented phonetically by some linguists as a v with a curl. Its Z-SAMPA representation is /W\_d/.
Other uses
In the Terraverse conworld, "tap" is used as a racial slur for Terps by many enemies, possibly as a reference to the seemingly strange sounds of Terpish or the rendering of "Terra Pvlchra" as "Tapioca".
