hello, pa shanche ki, konnitiha, sawatdee kha, guten tag.

I am Jayelinda Suridge, aka nortala (or norsena, or hoshikiyo, or seika, or naurél - or anything else meaning 'star-fire' or 'star-spirit'). I was born at the tail-end of 1980 in Brisbane, Australia. I've lived in Canberra for most of my life and remain firm in my decision not to stay here forever. However I've just been accepted into a 3D animation course that's only offered in Canberra or Melbourne, so it looks like I'm stuck here for a few more years yet.

My hobbies include writing, drawing, fortune telling and karate. The topic I know most about is (Australian) spiders.

My first language is English and I can't claim to be fluent in any others, although I'm working on Japanese. I also studied Thai at one stage and can remember the very basics. In the distant past I studied French and German. I hardly remember anything about those languages, though.

Sometime during 1994, I started writing a novel. My conworld was born when I started working out the setting and character backgrounds. It wasn't long before I was starting to describe the language that those characters would speak. Now, said novel is not even close to being finished, but the world kadreilia and the kardii language have both come a long, long way. (for an example, check out the kardii babel text)
