GreenBowTie (real name Eric, born March 27, 1985) is a member of the Zompist Bulletin Board. He is member number 43, having joined on October 9, 2002.
GreenBowTie lives in Southern California, specifically in San Diego County. He has been conlanging off and on since 1998; he created Kokipopi in October of 2000, worked on a conlang called Old Esmic in 2000 and 2001, and since 2003 has been slowly but surely constructing Rovaic.
GreenBowTie is politically unaffiliated but typically (although not always) leans to the left. He is somewhat well known for his strong advocation of the Kirshenbaum transcription scheme of IPA over SAMPA, X-SAMPA, Z-SAMPA, and so on. His major linguistic interests are diachronics and dialect variation, especially in phonology, and the Germanic languages, especially German and Plattdeutsch. He is bisexual, has long hair, is near-sighted, and is studying cinema at a community college.
He lists Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged and Anne Rice's Lasher as the two worst novels he has ever read.
