Concircle

A concircle is, generally speaking, a circular piece of art, usually based on an abstract symbol of some kind, with an inscription around the edge in the artist's own conscript. The One Ring in Lord of the Rings is frequently represented by its inscription alone in a two-dimensional format, thus being perhaps the earliest example of a concircle. Some ZBB members have created their own concircles (see examples below) and posted them on the ZBB, perhaps helping to spark a recent resurgence in the creation of conscripts.

Of a different style are the image-based concircles. Dazi and Naeddyr have made notable examples of these. On the ZBB these have traditionally been elemental in nature and have had no text. These are most similar to the mandalas of Asia. Their graphical nature makes them more universal but also more esoteric. No ZBB member has shown us one based on a pantheon yet, as true mandalas are wont to do.
