Üqoi
From KneeQuickie
Üqoi is an invented language begun by Bruce V. Bracken in 1996. It is an agglutinative language whose grammatical structure is entirely based on the noun. Among its unique features is the expression of an emotional state or state of being in a directly verbal form, without an intermediary verb; a class of vowels called "viscerals", which are pronounced from below the sternum, and are represented with umlauts in Romanized form; gi'igijlaambözhiighu, "grammar symbols", diacritical marks to indicate the plural, definite article, and genitive-adjective-plural forms. The Üqoi Alphabet, kha'akhamnombözhiighu üqoi, has fifty-three characters, thirteen basic characters, and forty with diacritical marks to indicate length and visceralization of vowels, consonantal aspiration and s'qubak, "vibration", or softening (e.g., zh, sh, v, f, gh, ggh, kh, kkh).
Certain grammatical features: the plural is expressed by duplicating the vowel of the first syllable (bë'ëlhotii, trees, from bëlhotii, tree); possessive and adjective is expressed by doubling the penultimate syllable, and the adj./poss. form is grafted onto the noun to be modified(huhunaamboviij, black circle; hunaamb, black + oviij, circle) , unless the penutimate syllable is CCV, in which case only the second consonant and vowel are duplicated; the definite article is expressed by doubling the vowel of the last syllable, and "visceralizing" it (ukhtoö, the clothing); when the vowel is already visceral, it doesn not change; the syllable structure is CV, CCV and CVC(the last is only for final syllables).
